'Me Time' - darkroom print

$80.00

This is a darkroom print in 8in x 10in size.

About:

‘Me time, my favourite kind of time’.

There is something so delicious, indulgent and necessary about having ‘me time’. Taking yourself somewhere and soaking in the joy of that place and your own company.

I took this image in a tidal rockpool that gets cut off at high tide during large swell. It’s accessed by a little bush track over the headland. It’s one of my favourite ocean pools because it’s so secret, even though it’s really no secret at all.

Darkroom prints:

This image was made by hand by me in the darkroom. Silver gelatin is the term given to the light sensitive coating on darkroom paper and this is why darkroom prints are called silver gelatin prints. They are unique, one of a kind, original objects subject to the imperfections of the handmade process. Even if the image itself is reprinted, no copy can ever be exactly replicated. They are artefacts and are made with love, attention and heart.

Me Time in detail.

Notice the texture of the water in the foreground.

The flecks of white are characteristic of a darkroom print and speak to the artisanal nature of these pieces.
